Consumers Energy plans to demolish the Campbell, but then what? There are rumors that Consumers Energy may work with an AI data center to locate such a center at the Campbell site. This would be in addition to a lithium ion battery plant which has already been mentioned. Consumers Energy has already published its intention for injection of the Campbell waste water deep underground.
These plans for the site are far less environmentally sound that the “Save The Campbell” plan for the site. Those living in the area would likely be mal-affected.
We would urge the township boards join the Exploratory Committee for Locally Controlled Electric Cooperative in order to pursue a more sound route.
