Central to the “Save The Campbell” plan is replacement of Consumers Energy in Ottawa County, including its ownership of the Campbell, with a locally controlled electric cooperative which seeks to thwart the misguided Net Zero Agenda. The main objective of the 2nd round of Save The Campbell Resolutions is to explore getting this local control of our electric in an electric cooperative, including the Campbell, instead of its current control by the Whitmer-appointed MPSC and the Consumers Energy monopoly which does its bidding. We need to make sure our electric policy is in our local interest as opposed to what certain UN and WEF elites want and the few who stand to profit by doing their bidding.
No AI data center should use a part of Campbell’s electric unless it is in the interest of local citizens, so that we have reliable, affordable and environmentally responsible electric locally. If it does not pass that test, then the local electric cooperative should not enter into contract with an AI data center. The AI data center is NOT a necessary component of it
Optional but still worthy of consideration is a contract with an AI data center which utilizes a portion of the Campbell’s generated electric. There are at least 3 main reasons to consider this option:
- It could help with financing the purchase of assets from Consumers Energy.
- It could help in lowering residential electric rates. The high fees charged to the data center could be used to reduce residential rates.
- It could help encourage the Trump Administration to help us, given how much they want such.
The locally controlled electric cooperative should only contract with an AI data center if it is protected from all risk if the AI data center goes under. Like any business deal, it should only be entered into if it makes sense, in this case for the local citizens of Ottawa County.
There should be no AI data center in Ottawa county unless there is no noise issue with it. There are methods to accomplish that, as partially described here: https://www.datacenterknowledge.com/sustainability/why-data-centers-are-loud-and-how-to-quiet-them-down.
The biggest risk exposure we have is sticking with the UN Net Zero Agenda that Consumers Energy is committed to, not getting local control and thwarting the Net Zero Agenda. The Net Zero Agenda seeks to replace reliable fossil fuel plants with unreliable solar/battery/wind. It is a recipe for disaster, as explained here: https://www.spectator.com.au/2025/08/a-tale-of-two-tipping-points/ . Ottawa County may be able to leverage the significant and growing demand for AI data centers to our advantage.
