We are thankful for the Polkton Township Board‘s strong defense for the citizens it represents. They unanimously passed a modified form of the 2nd round of “Save The Campbell” Resolutions. Their modified form seeks for the exploratory committee to consider not only the ones specified in the original version, but even other possible ones too. This exploratory committee is for information-gathering purposes only, and in no way binds the participating townships or the county to any specific actions. There is general agreement that Consumers Energy’s current Net Zero direction is unrealistic and unnecessarily expensive. Premature closure of fossil fuel plants with attempted replacement by solar/wind/battery, for our baseload electric, is unreasonable, and we do not wish locally to participate in a misguided Net Zero agenda.

Four township boards have now passed the 2nd round of resolutions: Georgetown, Jamestown, Wright, and Polkton. There are indications others will be joining them in this effort.
