Significant strides have already been made in reducing pollutant emissions from the Campbell:
- Scrubbing equipment especially installed on Unit 3 has reduced emissions significantly
- The fly ash issue is being addressed, and no more fly ash should be buried, but all byproducts should be sold for commercial uses, even if that needs to be partially subsidized
Additional strides can be made to virtually eliminate pollutant emissions from the Campbell complex by utilizing evolving technology in coal energy processing, converting it to hydrogen gas, and then burning it.
But let’s be clear: carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant, but it is the gas of life. While there are technologies even to capture carbon effectively, such would be a waste of money since carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant. We need to challenge Net Zero climate alarmism head on, first by getting local control of our electric grid via a locally elected electric cooperative board for those parts of Ottawa County with Consumers Energy. We do not have to be run over by an agenda that is not in our local interest and based upon false information.
