The dirty little secret is that RWE and KCE will get their money from Consumers Energy, who will be buying the unreliable electric that these solar panel and lithium ion battery projects produce. Consumers Energy is already dramatically raising its prices to its customers to pay for its Net Zero agenda. So we, the Consumers Energy customers of West Michigan, will be the ones paying the higher costs that Net Zero inevitably creates because solar/wind/battery are intermittent, unreliable electric that must be expensively backed up by fossil fuel plants. We pay the bill for replacing reliable Campbell electricity with unreliable.
Recognizing this dirty little secret is the first step in realizing we need to get local control of our electric grid and move away from Consumers Energy’s Net Zero agenda, even as we seek to overturn PA 233 which imposes the solar/wind/battery on our localities while removing local government control.
Remember all of this when RWE and KCE tell you that they will be paying lots of tax money to Zeeland Township and Blendon Township governments. The money is coming out of our pocket in the form of higher Consumers Energy electric bills!
