Port Sheldon Township Supervisor Mike Sabatino has asked for Ottawa County to pick up the significant costs of Pigeon Lake Channel because the Campbell plant will close.

No longer will revenues from the Campbell plant support dredging and other area expenses. Dredging the channel alone can cost $750,000 or more. And Supervisor Sabatino acknowledges there will likely be other negative effects without the Campbell. See his speech beginning at 15:53 in this video of the meeting.

The real solution is to save the Campbell, not for Ottawa County to pick up all of the costs associated with a bad decision.
