As of 03/18/2024 no current or likely Republican candidate has responded. Over the course of the next two weeks there will be continued efforts to encourage these to support the effort and to find out precisely what their position is.
Also during this period we would request there to begin a discussion among supporters of this effort what to do if there are no current Republican candidates or incumbents on the Board who support this effort, or at least not in some of the County commissioner districts. The two main venues for such discussions will be the Facebook Group Ottawa County Public Square, and a community chat of this Facebook Group focused on the topic, alongside use of freeconferencecall.com for those not on Facebook.
