I’m reaching out to ascertain whether the Energy Department is aware of the many coal power plants that are scheduled to be taken offline and demolished in the near future, specifically the Campbell power station in Ottawa County, Michigan.  This plant is scheduled for shuttering and spiking in May, with demolition in the fall. This will endanger not only power supply to West Michigan, but the area grid as well (per MISO and NERC). Gretchen Whitmer has done her best to hamstring utilities using the fascist policies (government/private “partnerships”) that enrich select private businesses while impoverishing others and reducing service. Michigan already pays significantly higher rates than the surrounding region due to these policies, and the loss of this plant will be a final straw to many.

In keeping with the Executive Order signed January 20, please consider intervening on behalf of a state that wants what is right, but is under the thumb of an empress bent on its destruction for her political ambitions, and her foreign (Chinese) connections.

Jesse Meerman, Polkton Township Trustee

Note from “Save The Campbell” leader, Joseph Parnell McCarter: The “Save The Campbell” effort has benefited greatly by the advice provided to us by Trustee Meerman and others. His letter above is a good example for other County citizens.
