Over $1 billion was invested in anti-polluting equipment in the Campbell plant in the last decade, such that the main concern expressed regarding the Campbell is its carbon dioxide emissions. But if atmospheric carbon dioxide is the primary concern, then why not keep the Campbell plant open but either apply Allam cycle technology to it, or create a separate carbon capture facility that makes up for the Campbell’s carbon dioxide emissions? Is it wise to demolish the Campbell plant in 2025, which is worth billions of dollars and provides reliable electric to one million regional residents, instead of considering alternative ways to achieve policy goals?

Many of us are not convinced by the atmospheric carbon dioxide alarmism, but even those who are should step back and consider more cost effective alternatives to demolishing the Campbell plant.
