Here is what is being reported to us from an inside source:
“Staff there believes with 95% certainty that they will be opened until the end of next winter… I do contract work out there a few times a year. The problem is, it is being run by a skeleton staff and the crew that was intended to decommission it. Maintenance is being deferred, basically anything that has doesn’t have to do with absolute basic safety of operation is being pushed aside because they are fairly sure that at some point it will be closed so no money is being spent on anything but bare-bones operation and it is slowly decaying. 😢”
At the same time that the Campbell is being prepared for death, there are projects full-steam ahead to build solar and battery in Ottawa County using many acres of our valuable farmland.
We need new ownership of our local electric grid to thwart this misguided Net Zero agenda which replaces reliable fossil fuel plants like the Campbell with unreliable solar/wind/battery.
