Michigan Local Governments Need to Seek Ways to Attain More Power Relative to State Government Given the Bad Policy Direction and Abuse of Power by the State Government / Charter County Option Should be One Tool on the Table for Consideration

One of the most egregious abuses of State power is that of the MPSC over local zoning as part of its Net Zero agenda. The Michigan charter county option is a viable tool for local government to fight back with more local control. This option, along with others, should be seriously considered, to enhance local control in the face of bad State policy.
