We strongly disagree with the Ottawa County Board majority: thwarting Michigan’s Whitmer-led net zero agenda should be one of our top priorities because it is dangerous in so many ways to us like it is to the UK, including to our national security.

Moving us out of US coal (including our county’s Campbell closure) and into largely China-dominated battery and solar panels made by cheap China coal plant produced electricity has huge implications .
Those County Board members who cannot discern the danger here and are unwilling to use effective legal means to stop it have no business being our local political leaders , however much I might like them at a personal level.
Those assuming Trump alone can save us from this are unrealistic , given legal and other realities . We are already seeing how though Trump says he will do a lot, there are in fact significant practical obstacles . We should not be leaving it up to him to save us from this, any more than we should have left it up to him to save us from Whitmer’s Covid agenda.
